Member of the following professional trade bodies: International Association of Professional Numismatists (founded in 1951); and the British Numismatic Trade Association (founded in 1973).

 

Author of British Commemorative Medals and their Values (1987), which received the 'Mishler Prize' by the Token and Medal Society of America in 1988; the Second Edition was published in December 2010, and this received the 'Book Prize' of the International Association of Professional Numismatists in June 2011.

      An Introduction to Commemorative Medals (1989); Medallic Portraits of the Duke of Wellington (1994); and The Pingo Family and Medal Making in Eighteenth-Century Britain (1998), which received the 'Carl W.A. Carlson Award' from the Society of Medal Collectors of America in 2002.
