If you simply require a casual, off-the-cuff valuation, this is a service that cannot be provided without seeing the item at first hand, and you would therefore be best advised to approach a local dealer or auction house in your area.
If you have a medal or a collection of medals that you do wish to sell, then your call or e-mail is welcomed, but please note that an offer cannot be made without seeing and examining the item(s). Thank you.

 412. Ulysses Aldrovandi, c.1570 Draped bust of Aldrovandi, right. A bird standing, left, its head turned to right, a ring in its beak, a branch held in its claw. By T.R. Bronze, cast. 42 mm. (1.65 inches) in diameter. Nearly very fine, a small neat piercing at top. Sorry this item is sold. References: Attwood 976; Armand I, 138b; cf. Kress 361-62; cf. Muz. Mazzuchelli I, 441. Notes: Ulysses Aldrovandi (1522-1605), was a celebrated Bolognese botanist and naturalist. He carried our extensive work in plant classification and was, thus, a precursor of Charles Linnaeus. Attwood records a pierced, bronze example of the medal, measuring 41 mm., in the British Museum.
