559. King James II and the Religious State of England, 1688
A pedestal inscribed BRITANNIA supports a dove, chalice, wafer, Bible, mitre and cap of liberty; above, a hand from heaven holds a scroll inscribed with a text representing a letter from Caspar Fagel.
A large dog wearing a rosary and standing next to a short column; a book in its mouth, and others around, all marked with initials.

Good very fine, a few surface marks, attractively toned.
