 678. Portrait Medal of the Emperor Commodus, c.1520 Bust of the Emperor Commodus, right. Lion attacking a horse before a columned and arched building. By Giovanni Bernardi da Castel Bolognese. Bronze. 42 mm. (1.65 inches) in diameter. Almost very fine, flatness to the head of the lion. Sorry this item is sold. Notes: An extremely rare original striking, on a thick and heavy flan, the weight of which is 75.50 grammes.
