1481. Calendar Medal 'Calendarum Perpetuum', c.1730. MISSING ON 30 SEPTEMBER 2006 AND BELIEVED TO HAVE BEEN STOLEN., c.1730
A finely worked and put together German or German-related calendar medal, showing the days of the week - 'Sonntag-Samstag', in relation to the months of the year - 'Monnath', and their respective astrological signs - 'Himmels Zeichen', etc. etc..
Silver. 44 mm. (1.75 inches) in diameter.
Extremely fine and attractively toned.
Notes: A scarce, finely worked and sophisticated perpetual calendar, its elements of design of rococo form.
