Notes: Baron Philip Stosch (1691-1757) was a German archaeologist who lived in Italy. He was man of varied interests, and is the founder of the architectural collection in the Albertina Austria, which owns approximately 2,000 Italian architectural drawings from the 16th, 17th and early 18th centuries. Stosch also helped to found a masonic lodge in Florence, which was opened in 1733. For two other, later, medals of Stosch, see Archive page under the year 1727, # 213 and # 417.
