The moulds used to make Jean-Baptiste Nini's ceramics portraits occasionally served to make bronze casts, which can vary in age and quality; those of Benjamin Franklin being more usually seen.

The example being offered is a  finely detailed early cast. There is a small and finely made suspension hole near the top edge.
