Bust of King James I, three-quarters right, wearing a highly decorative gown and plumed hat, an oval badge suspended from a ribbon around his neck. Silver, cast and chased. 57 x 42 mm. (2.3 x 1.7 inches), oval. Suspension loop on edge.

Condition: Extremely fine.

Notes: This is one of a small group of medals, most of them extremely rare, which were made in the last quarter of the eighteenth century. Originals come on to the market barely once in a generation.
