Reference:4623 Pietro Aretino and the Phallic Satyr, c. 1540
Bust of Pietro Aretino to right, in high relief, draped and wearing a coat with collar. The head of a Satyr in high relief, its features comprising male genitalia. Unsigned. Bronze, cast. 47 mm. in diameter.
Condition: Very fine, attractive with a medium to light brown patina. The flan slightly buckled and some flatness on the uppermost part of the relief, but a good quality cast of this very elaborate composition.
