Medals

Reference:4786 Venus and Cupid, 1925

Seated figure of Venus, to right, pulls petals from a flower held by Cupid standing before her, in a game of 'will he or won't he'.

The standing figure of Cupid, naked but for a cloak flying in the wind behind her, stands near the prow  of a galley being rowed by Cupid.

By Leon-Claud Mascagny.

Bronze, cast. 110 mm.

Condition: Extremely fine

Notes:

A very stylish Art-Deco medal. The edge is stamped 112, accompanied by an indented cross, but the medal is believed  to be considerably rarer than this number indicates.
