Douglas WIlliam Freshfield (1845-1934), born Hampstead, London, member of the Royal Geographical Society, mountaineer, who wrote a work dealing with the exploration of the Caucasus in 1896.

Recorded by Colonel Grant in his listing of medals, and one of a number of portrait reliefs executed by Lady Ethel Harris in the 1920s, with a small number of each having been cast.
