Reference:3971 King George III, Royal Academy of Arts Prize, 1770

Bust of George III, right, his hair bound with a fillet and tied with a bow. A leaf border enclosed by a beaded border. A torso, the word STVDY above. Around, a beaded border. Edge inscribed: 'To Mr E. Ross for a drawing from the antique, December 10th 1823'. By Thomas Pingo Jr. (signed T.Pingo F. on the truncation). Silver, 55 mm. (2.2 inches).

Condition: Good very fine, once cleaned, and now with a light and pleasant tone.

Notes: This medal was awarded annually in silver for a drawing or a model of an academy, or for an architectural drawing of some noted building.
