Notes:

Perhaps the finest British architectural medal of the nineteenth century, its magnificent three-dimensional interior view of the Coal Exhcnage records a building in the heart of the City of London and one that was still standing in the early 1960s.

From the City of London series of medals, issued by the Corporation of London in 1849. With a gauge of 11.50 mm. and a weight of over 360 grammes (12 ounces), it was the largest medal to have been struck in Britain.
