An elderly and bearded Jew, wearing a long tallis, greets a younger man, standing opposite him, a stonemason's hammer in his left hand; wheatsheafs to left and right, a domed building in the distance. Dates in exergue, 3830-5680. A large Star of David in the centre, containing a short Hebrew inscription; around are twelve emblematic shields. In outer border, a continuous Hebrew inscription. Condition: Extremely fine.

Notes:

The medal was made by order of the Dutch Zionist Association to commemorate the outcome of the San Remo conference and the decision to establish a Jewish Palestine state. The example recorded by Polak is noted with a 93 mm. in diameter, and being cast, some such variance might be expected between one example and another.
