Condition: Extremely fine and attractively toned

Notes:

The Arctic medal, with its very evocative reverse scene, was authorized in 1857 and awarded, unnamed, to those who had been engaged in expeditions of discovery or search expeditions from 1818, including the lost expedition of Sir John Franklin 1845-48.
